Intelligent port is a service system based on modern electronic information technology oriented to port transport. Its prominent feature is to provide diversified information services for port service participants with the main line of information collection, processing, release, exchange, analysis and utilisation. It can be seen that smart ports urgently need to be closely integrated with IoT technology to achieve data sharing and stable and efficient port services.
Technical Architecture of Smart Port Based on Internet of Things (IoT)
IoT-based smart port can be divided into a 3-layer system consisting of perception layer, network layer and application layer.
The perception layer of the smart port includes barcode labels and readers, RFID labels and readers, cameras, and various sensors in the operation equipment and operation areas in the port area. The main role of the perception layer is to sense and identify objects, and collect and capture information.
Intelligent port network layer includes wireless network access to the IoT management centre and information centre, and the use of the network’s ability to carry out intelligent processing of massive information part.
